Product Description:
The Intimus Hybrid is an NSA listed hard drive crusher for the physical destruction of desktop, laptop, and server hard drives. A hardened steel, V-shaped anvil bends each drive approximately 90 degrees, breaking the platters, read/write heads, motor, and circuit board so the drive cannot be remounted or read.
- NSA evaluated and listed hard drive destruction device
- Automatic powered cycle of 20 seconds or less
- Manual hand crank operation with an 8-second cycle when power is unavailable
- Same level of destruction in powered and manual modes
- Accepts all 3.5-inch HDDs (0.65, 1.0, and 1.65-inch heights) and 2.5-inch laptop drives with the included carrier
- Optional SSD Module for solid state drive destruction
The automatic cycle starts when a drive is placed in the chamber and the door is closed. The hand crank on the side of the unit allows operation during power outages and in field locations without a steady power supply. Up to 4 laptop drives can be crushed in a single cycle using the laptop carrier.
For classified media, NSA policy requires drives to be degaussed in an NSA listed degausser before physical destruction. The Hybrid is commonly paired with the Intimus 20000G Hard Drive Degausser for this two-stage process. Degaussing has no effect on SSDs, so the optional SSD Module, which uses spiked teeth to puncture the memory chips, is used for solid state media.
Options include a Rear Output Slide, Auto Loader, Screw Mounting Kit, Remote Control, and Field Deployment Case. The unit weighs 63 lb, runs on 120 to 250 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz, and is made in the United States.
